EDITORIAL NOTE (FRUITS)
Hello,
We are pleased to present to you Volume II of Stripes Issue 1, littered with fruits from authors of different backgrounds.
Having witnessed many shaky ordeals in 2020, our being screamed for something edible doused in love and awe.
It was the need to change the narrative that pulled us into weighty lines in Michael Goldman's ‘What Probably Happened’, before we danced our way to the shadows of obesity and stigma in 'An Apple a day.'
Ann Privateer contributed art that is pregnant with joy, making us ponder what their fragrant lines mean, before we felt the disdain Mark Fleisher displayed for a certain fruit which could be rhymed into a song.
The editorial team in compiling this work aimed for a fruity experience; one that could drip from the sides of your lip upon devouring it. We are grateful to all who contributed to this cocktail.
